Traditional print media
has always been an effective, legitimate way to reach potential
clients. Television and radio can also reach its intended audience
with relative ease, and the Internet has captured the imagination of
a generation.
However, these media
aren’t the only ones companies can use to market their brand. A lot
of companies have used merchandising in order to promote the brand.
There are several reasons why this is a viable option for the
marketing campaigns of different companies.
Exposure
Ideally, companies make
use of “mobile” or portable products, which will give much needed
exposure to the brand and the campaign. With wearable items printed
with the company logo, such as shirts, jackets and hats or caps,
these promotional items easily become a “walking advertisement”,
expanding the product’s exposure. It can even reach places that the
Internet cannot access immediately.
Brand Establishment
People like
good-looking products, so a company that releases eye-catching
merchandise is sure to attract the attention of their target market.
It will also exhibit the company’s capability to become creative,
which is an important component in today’s industrialized world.
Unexpected
Opportunities
Because of the vast
potential of promotion merchandise to reach even the farthest corner
of the consumer market, it is not impossible for a company to achieve
opportunities in the most unexpected places. Having the logo or brand
seen by people is enough to trigger a chain reaction, eliciting
curiosity, brand learning, until ultimately, they lead to consumption
via sales.
